McArthur, California on April 7, 2013.
Yvonne was born in Salinas California on July 7, 1941. She was the 4th of
Rudolph and Anna Rheingans‘s 5 children. When Yvonne was 13 years old she
met Richard “Dick” Williams when his family moved in next to their
Highland Drive home. Thus began a courtship that was to last for the rest
of their lives. Yvonne and Dick married in 1960 a week before she
received her diploma as a member of the first class to graduate from North
Salinas High. In 1963 Yvonne and Dick built a home in Atascadero
California moving in just in time for the birth of their daughter Shawn.
The family moved to Healdsburg in 1971 where they built their second home.
While in Healdsburg Yvonne enjoyed many happy hours with members of the
Tayman Park Ladies Golf Club where she made many wonderful friends. She
loved children and spent a couple of years before her grandchildren were
born volunteering at Community Hospital in Santa Rosa as a “Rocking
Grandma”, assisting with tours for parents-to-be and caring for newborns.
Yvonne and Dick moved to McArthur in 2006 where Yvonne continued to
practice golf with many new friends at the Fall River Golf Course. Her
efforts earned her the “Most Improved Golfer” award in 2012.
She loved to travel, particularly to places where she could take long
walks, golf and swim.
Yvonne is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Dick Williams.
Loving mother of Shawn Sumpter of Cloverdale and son-in-law Brian. Devoted
grandmother of Sarah and Joshua Sumpter, students at U.C. Davis. Sister of
Arthur (Azelea) Rheingans, Almira Mercer, Vivian Rheingans and Dick
Rheingans. Affectionate aunt of numerous nieces and nephews.
Yvonne loved to make people happy. To honor her please extend an act of
kindness to someone in need.
There will be no services at this time. To extend condolences please leave
