Arthur Anton Mulder, age 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, November 5, 2020 and now is with his Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Henry, Carl, Roger, and Cliff. He is survived by his wife, of 67 years, Gert; children Mark (Ellen), Mike (Lori), Joe (Janna), Jana (Rich) Hoekwater, Todd (Ellen), and Ted (Joanne); 21 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; sisters Lil Westdorp, Kay (Bert) Ponstine, and Mae Mulder; sisters-in-law Loie, Marian, and June; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Art was a real estate agent for over 50 years helping many in the Grand Rapids area find their forever home. He was a past president of the Grand Rapids Real Estate Board. Art also was on the Board of Education at South Christian High School when football was approved as a varsity sport. He served as an elder at Second Byron Christian Reformed Church, and a teacher, coach, bus driver, and janitor for Byron Center Christian School. He and Gert were members of Resurrection Life Church in Grandville. Art would never miss one of his grandchildren's and even most of his great-grandchildren's events. He was the proud owner of the "SpinDrift," a Lake Michigan fishing boat he loved to spend time on. Art also enjoyed golfing and bowling on his league teams. Lately, he loved having lunch with family on Wednesdays. His "coupon" to cover the cost of lunch never seemed to run out.
