He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 48 years, Verna Kokmeyer; and children Steve Kokmeyer (Nanette), Christy Ackermann (Craig), Kathy Kelley (Greg), Laurie Slag, J.J. Slag (Cheri), Andrea Helsel (Chris), and Dan Kokmeyer (Marshi). He was also blessed with 19 wonderful grandchildren; and three adorable great-grandchildren. He often enjoyed time with his sisters and their husbands Jackie and Larry Danley, and Vicki and Ron Bos.
Frank graduated from the University of Michigan Dental School, and he remained a committed “Go Blue” fan for the rest of his life. After serving our country in the U.S. Army, he later founded RoseWood Dental in Kalamazoo and Yankee Springs Dental in the Gun Lake Area. The line between practice and hobby was blurred, as his love for helping his dental patients was both his profession and joy. He especially loved working with his daughter, also a dentist, and the many employees who became like extended family. He also used his talents by serving on dental mission teams in Honduras.
Frank also served on various church boards, and worked with others to found Gun Lake Community Church, which still serves the Gun Lake area. More recently, he and Verna have been members of Ada Bible Church.
Born December 30, 1941, much of his life was spent enjoying time in the Yankee Springs area. He loved Gun Lake long before moving there in 1976. Over the years, family time was spent boating, fishing, cross country skiing, and many competitive games of water volleyball. Other memories of him include being especially happy after winning a competitive Euchre game. His love for travel resulted in many enjoyable trips, both domestically and Internationally.
