Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Thornton and parents Dewey and Doris Rooper. She is reunited with her twin brother, Wayne, and other siblings Jean, Sally, Don, and Becky. She will be deeply missed by her loving sister, Peggy; children Robin Burman (RJay) and Amy Scheppelman (Alan); grandchildren Aaron Scheppelman and Megan Wiggers (Nick); great-grandchild, Joseph Wiggers; close friend, Diane Emaus; as well as five surviving stepsons.
Juanita grew up in West Virginia and graduated from Hurricane High School in 1953. She enjoyed sewing, embroidery, and growing beautiful flowers.
A celebration of Juanita’s life will commence 11 a.m. Friday, May 22, 2026, with visitation one hour prior, at Jenison Bible Church, 6360 14th Avenue, Hudsonville, MI 49426.
