May 27, 1959 – January 26, 2021.
On January 26, Kurt LeFebre passed into his Lord’s presence. Having experienced both God’s blessings and life’s challenges, he is now at peace in the glory of heaven.
Kurt was born in Grand Rapids on May 27, 1959. He is survived by his three beloved children Claire, Bennett, and Natalie, all of Grand Rapids; his brother, Kent (Kathryn) LeFebre; and nephews Benjamin, Thomas and Jonathon, of Mesa, AZ; his mother, Coralynne LeFebre Van’t Hof (Don) of Holland; his best friend, Todd DeStigter of Chicago, IL; his children’s mother, Amy Andriese LeFebre and her brothers; as well as many LeFebre, Van’t Hof and Westra aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Louis D. LeFebre, in 2012.
Kurt worked in member relations at the Illinois State Medical Society, as an executive director of the Oakland County Medical Society, and in the insurance division of the Michigan Health and Hospital Association, as well as for various insurance agencies.
He had a passion for studying history, and graduated with a B.A. in History from Calvin College. He was a voracious reader, and enjoyed time at Lake Michigan, and his family’s cottage on Green Lake. Earlier in life, he loved windsurfing and cycling, and took pride in the fact that he rode with a cycling group from the Atlantic to the Pacific as a teenager.
The family is planning a private gathering in his honor; no public visitation or funeral are planned. Memorial contributions may be directed to SeptemberCHAMP.org. The family welcomes memories and messages in their guestbook online at www.cookcaresbyron.com.
