Laura Lee Tilma

Tilma, Laura (Laurie) L. (Hoeksema) Tilma beloved mother, partner, grandmother, sister, cousin, and friend, age 63 of Grandville, formerly of Dorr, went to be with the Lord Sunday, April 6, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents Ronald and Shirley Hoeksema. She is survived by her daughters Lindsey Tilma, Heather (James) Helmus; partner, Larry Seeley; his children and family; her grandchildren Aidan and Vera; brothers Rick (Lynda) Hoeksema, Steve Hoeksema; stepmother, Minie Hoeksema; nieces Rachel and Sarah; and many extended family members and friends.

Laurie courageously fought her 23 year battle against cancer with a determined smile always on her face. She will be remembered for her thoughtfulness and kindness to all she met, always putting others before herself. In life, she enjoyed going to the beach, watching fireworks, finding a good bargain, and sitting out in the sun. Her deep motherly love for her daughters and grandchildren also overflowed to her cherished cats, that she had over the years, who brought her joy and comfort. Above all, Laurie loved her family and spending time with them.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, April 10, 2025 at Cook Funeral Home, 2067 84th St. SW, Byron Center, Michigan 49315. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, April 11, 2025 at the funeral home, with visitation from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the service.
