Linda Sue Mulder (Gort), age 70, went to be with her Savior Wednesday, May 21, 2025. She was a devoted wife, daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother. Linda was preceded in death by her daughter, Joanna. She will be remembered by her devoted husband, Jim Mulder; daughter, Sharon and Jeremy Weber (Ben and Elena); daughter, Rachel and Josh Visser (Jordan, Aaron, and Levi); son, Peter and Lina Deit (Nyachieng, Sarah, and Phan); son, Andrew and Kristin Power (Elizabeth, Eve, and Cora); daughter, Michelle and Danny Ralston (Makayla, Briella, and Jacob); stepdaughter, Cassie and Kevin Rummelt (Nora and Hayes); parents Gordon and Joyce Gort; brother, Al and Vicki Gort; sister, Barb and the late Gordon Groenink; brother, Tom and Cheri Gort; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Her faith in her Lord and Savior was the cornerstone of her life. She lived each day with grace, humility, and a heart full of love. Linda was involved in numerous groups, missions and charities, helping the underserved and disabled. She spent decades serving patients with compassion, skill, and unwavering dedication in the nursing home, school, and the abroad mission setting. Later in life, driven by a deep sense of purpose and love for children, she returned to school to achieve her bachelor’s degree to become a public school nurse, where her presence was a beacon of hope and healing.
In addition to her professional and spiritual life, Linda found great joy in her hobbies. She was a talented knitter and quilter, lovingly creating handmade gifts for charity and family—each stitch a testament to her care and devotion. Her creations will be treasured keepsakes for generations to come. Some of her fondest memories were made spending summers at Houghton Lake, traveling to visit family, and camping with her loved ones.
Visitation with friends and relatives will take place 1 p.m. Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Corinth Reformed Church, 129 100th Street SE, Byron Center, MI 49315. A celebration of Linda’s life will commence immediately following 2 p.m. at Corinth Reformed Church. In honor of Linda and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to charities that she loved and supported: Every Child Ministries (https://ecmafrica.org/), Pregnancy Resource Center (https://prcgr.org/), and Beautiful You (https://beautifulyoubyprofile.org/). The family welcomes memories and messages at www.cookcaresbyron.com in their guestbook online.
