

Trent Raymond Roussey passed away Friday, November 29, 2024. Trent was received by his Lord, Jesus Christ and is resting comfortably in the arms of his beloved Gramma Pat, Gramma Roussey, Grandpa Jon, and Grandpa Roussey. He is also fishing the heavenly streams with his beloved Uncle Scott Belote and his Bulldog, BNE.
Trent was born in Dallas, Texas yet lived most of his life in Byron Center, MI. His early life was spent mainly in the outdoors where he loved fishing for trout with his brothers and friends in his favorite place, “the cabin" on the Manistee River. He fondly reminisced about the late nights around the campfire. Trent was also very active in the sports of football, basketball, and baseball, where he excelled at an early age (in grade school he once scored all 28 of his team's 28 points). He loved University of Michigan football and Byron Center sports.
Trent was a proud and doting father to Violet, his youngest child. He was a big part of the lives of both London and Kiegan Turner whom he loved and always considered his own.
Trent was proud of his profession of painting water towers, mostly in the Chicago area and nationally. He most recently worked as a carpenter in the construction trades.
Trent is survived by his life partner and best friend, Christie DeRuiter; daughters Violet Ray Roussey, Mya Janae (Aaron) Kidd, London Turner; and son, Kiegan Turner; parents Tony and Carolyn Roussey; brothers Paul (Ashlea) Roussey and Aaron Roussey; sister-in-law, Ashlea Roussey; grandfather, Robert Barone; aunts and uncles Linda (Dick) Griffith Raker, Patrick (Sally) Roussey, Coleen Roussey, Julie (Harold) Ritter, Paul (Tina) Barone; nephew, Cameron Roussey; nieces Avery Roussey, Kayla Roussey, and Addison Roussey. Trent is preceded in death by grandparents Raymond and Katherine Roussey, Jon and Patricia Gibbons, Virginia Barone; aunts and uncles Kathleen (Harlan) Blood, Annette Roussey, Michael Roussey.
A memorial visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, December 5, 2024 at Cook Funeral Home in Byron Center, 2067 84th St. SW. The family welcomes memories and messages at www.cookcaresbyron.com in their online guestbook.
