It is with profound sadness and heartbreak that we announce the passing of Anastasia "Tasoula" Pappas (Stergiou). A devoted Greek Orthodox Christian, a beloved mother, grandmother (yiayia), wife, sister, aunt, and a friend to everyone. Tasoulla passed away on Sunday March 23 at the age of 71 at Hamilton General Hospital.
Tasoula was born in Aetos, Greece in 1953. She was the adored sister to four brothers and two sisters. Tasoula married her beloved husband Stavros at the age of 16 and soon after migrated to Germany then Canada to begin their life. Together they worked hard to provide the very best for their growing family. With their three children they created beautiful memories here at home and through many trips to Greece and Cuba.
People who knew Tasoula remember her always laughing, dancing, singing, and being the life of the party wherever she was. Many people describe her as being their "favourite" or "best" friend.
Tasoula enjoyed gardening, and baking (she made the best pitas and tsourekia) but her biggest joy was being with her family, especially her grandchildren.
You will be dearly missed by your children: Chrissy, Trifon (Irene), Terry (Lori), and your grandchildren: Wesley, Zackary, William, Stavros and Charalambos.
Her big heartfelt hugs and kisses will never be forgotten.
Visitation will be held at Coutts Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 96 St Andrews Street, Cambridge on Wednesday, March 26 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at Coutts Funeral Home on Thursday March 27 at 11:00 a.m. lead by Father Anatoliy Bandura. Interment to follow at Parklawn Cemetery in Cambridge.
