My Great Aunt Arlene was such a nice lady.  Her love of her family always shone through.   My thoughts and prayers are with the family, especially since this is their second loss in such a short period of time.  May God grant you peace and comfort in the coming weeks.

Aunt Arlene was a favourite aunt of mine, and I have plenty of fond memories visiting with the family when I was young. There was a special blue tin that was usually filled with what we now refer to as "Tante Ali cookies". They were the best! I also remember picking gooseberries and red currants in the back yard on Hwy. 24. She was a wonderful cook. I make her kidney bean salad recipe every summer because most of our friends request it whenever we have a barbeque. 

Aunt Arlene was such a generous and caring person. Although I hadn't seen her for a few years, we continued to exchange cards and she alway took the time to include some pretty stickers and a personal message in each one. 

Berny, Margo and Gary,  how blessed you are to have had such a wonderful and loving Mom.  May your many cherished memories  bring a smile whenever you think of her.

Keith and I send our heartfelt sympathies to you and your family. May God give you His peace and comfort.

I am so sorry to learn of Aunt Arlene's passing.   She was so wonderful to us, when our sister was in hospital over a lengthy time.  I still remember picking green beans and tipping them, and picking currants at the RR5 property long ago.   Her happy attitude was all we needed to get through those times.   She and Uncle Peter raised an awesome family.  I pray for peace for them all and sympathy and condolenes offered.  You are well loved, Aunt Arlene; for that, we thank the Lord and ask for his grace.

It was always a joy to visit with Arlene. She loved to reminisce about days gone by, and I was always so amazed at how she remembered everyone's birthday. You could always tell that people were important to her. I remember at the end of our visits together saying, "I love you" to each other and you knew that she meant it, as did I. She was a special lady. 
It was hard not to be able to visit with Arlene when the pandemic started, but we faithfully spoke with each other on the phone. I considered her a good friend.
While I will miss her greatly, I am thankful that the Lord has drawn her to Himself and that she now sees her Lord face to face. 
My sincere condolences to you all as you grieve the loss of a mother and grandmother.  May the Lord be your strength and comfort in the days that lie ahead.

Everyone should have had an Aunt Arlene.  She remembered to send cards,  make your favorites before you came and when you left you were already looking forward to another visit.   She truly valued family.   

I had a great conversation with her not long ago.   It ended with us both promising to keep each other in prayer.  Now I have this great last memory of hearing her say, "I love you" to which I got to reply, "I love you too, Aunt Arlene."  

Her passing is a great loss to many.

To all Arlene's dear family: Berny, Margo, Gary, and your families, as well as Jenny's family--Melissa's and Lukas's families!  It was a blessing to know your mother and Oma; she was a pleasure to visit--we could talk for hours.  She was very special to me, and to the church family at Zion URC--faithfully remembering birthdays, she made people feel special and loved!

I will always be thankful for the opportunity to visit Arlene at Freeport Hospital, just one day before she passed into glory!  Though she was not awake, she did show some signs of awareness of my presence.  It was a privilege and a blessing to minister to her soul by reading some Scripture passages, and singing hymns of assurance and peace for her remembrance; to be able to pray for her, and with her, and speak words of assurance to her of her inheritance in Christ Jesus, her Lord and Saviour.   It was a blessing to be able to sing, and say, "God be with you till we meet again..." till we meet at Jesus' feet in glory one day.  This memory will always be dear to my heart; thank you for that special time with your Mom/Oma!   

I will miss Arlene, and pray the Lord will comfort you, her family and loved ones, with knowing that she is safely "home," where .....  
    "He (God) will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” Revelation 21:4




Arlene I will always remember you as an amazing wonderful mother in law and Oma to my children. I was so fortunate to have you in my life. You taught me so many skills, that assisted me throughout my life in giving my family what they needed from a loving caring mother. 
You will be missed by all of us. Your laugh and giant hugs.

My deepest condolences to Arlene's family who have lost two family members in such a close time frame.  I loved Arlene's  up beat attitude and smile when ever we saw each other. She will be missed by all who knew her and I will remember her always. 

One of my fondest memories is visiting when we were children and Aunt Arlene had baked chocolate macaroons.  I always thought of them as Tante Ali cookies.  Years later, she was kind enough to give me her recipe.  Whenever I make them, I think of her and can't help but smile.

My deepest condolences to the family especially Bernie Margo and Gary. Your Mother was such an inspiration too many. Her faith in God and her love for her family was unwavering. She was a strong strong person I enjoyed my many chats with her on the phone. She seemed okay no matter what happened around her I'm also sorry for Jenny's passing I know that was very difficult on her and on you folks. Was so happy I was able to see her just a short time ago with ann and myself. Will be praying for your family in the coming weeks may you find peace and comfort in memories of your mom.

Our condolences go out to Bernie, Margo, Gary and families.   In our conversations, Aunt Arlene expressed her gratitude for God's grace each day and her assurance that, in all circumstances, she rested securely in the hands of her Heavenly Father.   Her faith was evident in the way she lived and in the joy she spread to those around her.  We will miss her ever-present smile and her regular cards for Christmas and special occasions, cards and envelopes that always contained lots of happy stickers.
