It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dearest Carl Glenford Harrison. He passed away peacefully and surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, March 30th at Cambridge Memorial Hospital. He was 85 years old.
Beloved husband of Carole. Cherished father of Bruce (Leslie) and Brian (Rose). Loving grandpa of Amy, Jason (Kaitlin), Rebecca (Helder), Brody, Leah (Nick) and Oliver. Adored great-grandpa to Shawn, Mikayla, Jack, Deacon, Barrett, Darius and Isla. Treasured brother of Donald (Linda), Susan (Bill) and George (Michelle). Carl was predeceased by his parents Reuben and Jessie Harrison, and his sisters Ila Cruikshanks and Evelyn Harrison.
Carl was born on August 16, 1937 in New Richmond, Quebec. When Carl was 22 years old, he moved to Toronto where he met his wife of 63 years, Carole. They were married on September 10th, 1960 in Deseronto, Ontario. After the boys were born, the family moved to Malton and lived there until Carl retired in 1998. After retiring, the couple moved to Prince Edward County.
Bud always had a passion for fixing things. He enjoyed spending his free time tinkering in his garage. He especially enjoyed working on engines. If he wasn’t in the garage, Carl was spending time with his loving wife, family and friends. Carl will be remembered by those who had the pleasure of knowing him as kind, funny, loving, genuine and overall just a really nice man.
We would like to thank Dr. Nancekievill and the amazing staff at Prince Edward Family Health Team. We have tremendous appreciation for the level of care that you provided Carl with over the last 5 years as he battled COPD. We would also like to thank every doctor, nurse and paramedic that cared for Bud throughout his many visits to Trenton Hospital. Lastly, we would like to express our sincerest gratitude to the doctors and nurses at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, who kept Carl comfortable in his final days.
Words are simply not enough to describe how much Bud will be missed. He lived an exceptional life and will continue to live on in his loved ones. Forever in our hearts, prayers and memories.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Bud’s Life will be held at a later date.
Fond memories and donations to The COPD Foundation may be shared through Coutts Funeral Home & Cremation Centre at www.couttsfuneralhome.com.
