Dennis Slater

Passed away peacefully on Sunday May 4, 2014 at Cambridge Memorial Hospital in his 89th year. Pre deceased by his beloved wife Iris on May 11, 2010. Loving Father of, Linda Beacock and her husband Jim of Cambridge, Michael and his wife Janet of Woodville, Maureen Hanson and her husband Rick of Cambridge, Sharon and her husband Rob of Cambridge. Also survived by his 8 grandchildren, Kim (Gord), Ian (Casey), Michael, Kevin, Grant , Meg, Jeff (Holly), Susan (Shawn). 4 Great Grandchildren, Caitlin, James, David and Allison. Nieces and Nephews in England and Goddaughter Susan Topham in England. Dennis was born in Sheffield, England June 3, 1925 and has lived in Cambridge since 1965. He was a lifetime member and Past President of the United Kingdom Club of Cambridge. The family will receive friends at Coutts Funeral Home, 96 St Andrews St. Cambridge on Friday May 9th 2014 from 1pm until service time at 2pm. Cremation has taken place. Fellowship to follow at the United Kingdom Club, 35 International Village Drive, Cambridge. As expressions of sympathy, donation to Cambridge Memorial Hospital or Sick Children’s Hospital in Toronto would be appreciated by the family. Special thanks to the staff at Golden Years Assisted Living, for their loving care they gave for the past 3 ½ years. Thank you to the 5th floor nursing staff and to Dr. Kovalcic, of the Cambridge Memorial Hospital and to Dr. Leung and Lisa for over 30 years as family physician.
