Edna Mae Smith

She will be deeply missed by her children: Jim Miller; Debbie (Paul) Buchan; Valerie Miller; Ben and Debbie Miller; Pamela and Sean Smith; Eric Smith; and Julie and Leon McGrath. Proud Nanny to Brianna Buchan, Victoria Poldi, Renee and Adam Reed, Darnel Smith, and Hayden McGrath. She is predeceased by her granddaughter Shannel Smith (2024) and her son-in-law Moe (2015). Edna will also be lovingly remembered by her extended family, dear friends, and her treasured cat, Foxy Lady.

Edna’s life was filled with simple joys and the people she loved. She had a passion for camping and spending time at her trailer up north, where she felt most at peace. She adored lilacs, had a lifelong love of animals, and always had a cat or dog by her side. Her home was often filled with the sounds of Elvis playing, and she was a loyal hockey fan, cheering on the Toronto Maple Leafs through every season.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place, and a private family service has been held.

Her family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff of St. Andrew’s Long-Term Care for the kindness, care, and love shown to Edna during her time there.
