On Saturday, April 18, 2026 at 8:00 am at the Elliott Community, Gottfriede Weissenbrunner peacefully passed away while both her daughters Bettina and Veronica held her hands until her last breath. All her grandchildren, and Veronica's husband Ralph were present.
Gottfriede was a loving wife to Adalbert Weissenbrunner until his passing in 2001 and a loving partner to Edward Mild until his passing in 2026. Loving mother to Veronica (Ralph) and Bettina. Cherished Oma to Rebecca, Matthew (Olivia), Andrew (Lauren), and Angela (Yann), and great Oma to Reesie, Rory, Aria, and Aspen.
Frieda will be missed by her dear sister-in-law Julika and Irwin Thailler and family, Harold Sarka and Michael Reiter from Austria, Waltraude Ricciuto from Montreal, as well as the many friends and acquaintances she made at the Elliott Community.
Both Father Ma from St. Mary’s Church and Reverend Michael Dell from the Elliott Community provided heartfelt last rites to Gottfriede.
Visitation will be held at Coutts Funeral Home, 96 St. Andrews St., Cambridge on Wednesday, April 29 at 10:00 a.m., with the funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow, as Gottfriede would have loved nothing more than for everyone to enjoy some food and drinks. Interment will take place following the reception at Parklawn Cemetery.
Fond memories and donations to The Parkinson’s Society, The Elliott Community, or The Alzheimer Society of Ontario may be shared through the funeral home.
