This is Jeffery’s son, Lucas typing this out. I miss my father so much Because he passed when I was five. I had little to no emotions back then but I have much, much more now. May my father rest in peace.

4 years later and miss you more than ever.  It has been tough with covid the last few years.  Thought we were gonna loose mom at one point. Dad was sick too.    I pray you watch over all of us.  We all miss you and watch over Lucas. Mom always worries about him.  Your always in our hearts.  I got mom a blanket with a bunch of our pictures on it.  She can keep it close with her and her memories ❤❤  love you until we meet again   have you on the blanket playing guitar drinking coffee with your son.  Love you baby bro

Growing up we shared a lot of time together
Jeffery was always such a sweet, kind, caring soul
and will surely be missed by many!
I remember Laurie had just split up with her boyfriend 
and retreated to her room and played Good bye to Romance
over and over and over! 'And Jeffery was very upset for his sister,
I think he truly felt her pain and wanted her to be okay, he didn't care
that we had to listen to that song over and over, he just wanted his 
big sister to be okay!
My fav. memory was of the Dog Show we all went to! I was happy that my Auntie Linda
was famous and could do things with dogs I'd never seen before! So we all loaded up and headed to the Dog Show
Jeffery was very excited and wanted to show us everything! Finally we went to see Buddy, who lifted his
leg and peed on Jeffery's sock! Now a regular kid would have gone crying to his Mom, but not Jeffery! As we were
all laughing, Jeffery gave us that look and the chase was on! He was gonna wipe the pee sock on us all! Auntie Linda
finally asked what all the ruckus was about! So she told Jeffery to take the pee sock off, he didnt want to cause
he hadn't wiped it on us yet! I take the little ones I care for to the Dog Show every year and I always tell them
about my cousin Jeff and his famous Mom!
Jeffery, I pray that you have found the peace you've been searching for! I can just imagine you, up at the Pearly Gates
Jamming with all the greats that have gone before you!

Sorry to hear of Jeff's passing!  

There are no right words to say only tears and sadness!  

Jeff's family was a big part of my life growing up!  I remember family dinners and outings , bike riding and playing outside! As Jenny,Jeff ,Damien and I were close in age we stuck together!  As we grew older Jeff stayed in my life for many years until his illness over took him.  He came to visit me almost daily on his way to work, we would chat and talk about the future and just had fun together!  The boys would pick up there guitar and play a tune,  I think Jeff picked up the guitar every time he was here! He loved  to play any chance he got!  My  last time with Jeff was right after I had Hope which was a difficult time for me and Jeff was there when we got home to make sure we were all healthy and good!  As he left that day he turned to me and said I had to make sure you and the baby we ok, he had a big heart   ❤️ that's the Jeff I knew! As Jeff left that day I didn't know it would be the last time I'd see him,
 As Jeff's illness over took him from coming over anymore! And he disappeared from our lives!

After he became ill and in hospital in 2012 , we reconnected with long chats on the computer. I was so greatful that he pulled through! We chatted a lot about his time in hospital and how scary it was for him and the memories and nightmares it left him with!  
He was excited about the new house and then a baby on the way! 
As memories flood  my mind, it puts a smile on my face through the tears I shed!

I was shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of my old buddy Jeff.  Though it has been many years since we connected, I feel like we could have picked up a conversation just like old times.  
I was there in the early years of Jeff learning to play guitar as we had a mutual love of music and could talk music all day.  I have fond memories of sitting in the Leader's basement playing on the old Commodore Vic 20, learning to play euchre, or listening to music.
My deepest condolences to the Leader family.  RIP Jeff.


Jeff it is so hard for me and Dad to  think of anything but you and our tears will not stop coming down,
You were my Baby boy and Lucas your baby boy would say when I said By Baby Boy Love You 
Dada is not a baby but Jeff you are my Baby boy for ever and always,.
You were a great dad to Lucas he and you have the love of music that your dad and you shared only Lucas  and you  loved Machine Gun Kelly your dad more country .
I always knew when you were down stairs jamming and your dad was upstairs playing to different things but I loved them both,
 You tried hard, worked hard and found a wonderful wife in Tina  I am so glad she made yous a lovely home and gave us another grandson.
Life was not the best for you, but you made the best of it you could.
Lucas learned so much from you so very early on,
   You told me you kept on top of things as you wanted to have the answers to anything Lucas asked you,    
You made me so very proud of you because you did such a wonderful job with him.
 He has you funny but weird sometimes sense of  hummer, 
You had such plans for his future so very sorry that you will not be able to share it with him and his mama..  
God how he loved you and helped you when you were getting so very ill he was so  good,  
 We will always love you. hope you know that even  with all of our broken Hearts Mom and Dad

I saw your brother's obit and had to write you and send you my deep condolences.  It's been a long time since we've chatted (since our Gerth days) but I wanted to reach out and send my sincerest condolences to you and your family.  May the good memories help you all at this time and may the laughter in his son's voice be a reminder that he is with you all.

My brother was my best friend as a child.  I remember the best of times with him.  We would walk to school, ride bikes, go to the pool, tobaggan together.     I loved being with him everyday, his protector.  As we became older, I would sit with him while he would play his heart and soul out on his guitar.  I couldn't believe at such a young age the talent he had, something i uncertainty lacked . I was proud of him, proud to call him my brother.     I love you more than you knew and I pray today you know.           Love you forever in my heart..  Jenny

 You were one of a kind! Your parents pride and joy! So talented,  Such a loving husband and father.  You taught Lucas so much in such a few short years.  Your family's hearts are broken but all the good memories will come and be passed on to Lucas as he grows.  You will never be forgotten, Love Aunt Donna and Uncle John

I miss my baby brother so much. He was the baby of the family with 3 older sisters although close in age.  
He was just an amazing person. Such a good husband and father to his little boy Lucas.  A wonderful son and great brother.  He taught Lucas so much in just a short period of time.  Yes my brother loved playing guitar and keyboard. So gifted musically and he enjoyed that passion with his son and of course our dad. As my dad is very passion about music as well. 
Jeff was so smart with computers,electronics and video games. He had a passion for sports. I miss my brother more than words can say.  I am broken without him. I will miss our talks by email daily more than once per day we would talk.  He would send tell me about the funny things Lucas would say and send pictures.  I will miss our visits. May you rest in peace Jeff. We loved you so much by Mom, dad, me, Jenny, Laurie, Tina and of course Lucas as well as your sisters spousals and so many relatives and friends miss you Greatly. Know that you were a wonderful person inside and out. Until we meet again.  Your sister Lisa 

What can I say about my baby brother. He has a beautiful family and a son Lucas who he took care of and taught him things every day.  The sweetest boy. I can see Jeff in him.  I will miss his emails to me with pics of Lucas doing things. I miss his long hippy hair back in the day with denny and damien.  He played guitar so beautiful.   He even tried to give me lessons.  Needless to say I did not have the talent like him.  I love you Jeff.  Even though he was my baby brother he would protect me from some boyfriends.  He always had my back. Things changed but he was still loving and caring.  We all love you and miss you so much.  💖

Since i had learned of the passing of my long time friend of 30yrs last night , even though there has been long intervals and gaps here and there since we would last talk.. be it in person,phone , via internet,emails etc all i could think of was all of  the different memories throughout the years i had known Jeff and seen each other through our best and worst of times  and the laughs we shared as well as the funny things we would get up to as far back as teenagers.We had both shared a passion for music and playing music  (he played guitar of course and  i played  and still play Bass)  which was the  1st connective tissue that began our friendship and i believe it was him that i  had my 1st jam with as he was at that time a few yrs already into playing guitar where as i was completely fresh at my instrument.I think it is a shame that he was unable to get out and show people what he was truly capable of  playing as a guitarist as the yrs went by.I think he was  just more comfortable just playing at home on his own leisure and pace. We also shared an interest in movies and just a few days ago i had learned of a sequel to a Jack Black movie that  he  had 1st introduced me to about 10 yrs ago which was a comedy that he had transferred onto DVD for me  to watch that he had absolutely loved and i very much enjoyed as well.When i 1st heard of this sequel the 1st thing that came to mind was Jeff and now in hindsight i had wished i could of discussed it with him now to see what his reaction would be .Jeff alot like Jack Black had a unique sense of humor and always found a way to make me laugh even through the most simple of scenarios and it would kind of come out of nowhere and on the spot which made it even funnier.There is so much more i could say at this point but i am only allowed so many words in this forum to describe my memories over the yrs of Jeff or this letter would be monstrous.  ..my condolences go out to his Family,Wife and Son... Your friend Deni Guenard. 

Jeff will be deeply missed.   He was such a loving, inspiration to little Lucas.  Such a good dad to his "Beautiful, beautiful boy"....  like John Lennon, Jeff nurtured his son who is a confident, bright beautiful boy.  


Jeff, 

You never seized to amaze me with how much talent you had.   From the little man who could belt out every word to the “Rind Stone Cowboy” (facial expressions and all).  To the teenager who snuck enough fuzzy navels with nobody catching you until the release to the white porcelain phone gave it away.  
You mastered the guitar like no other to the point that even Ozzy would have been proud to know you.  
The thing that amazed me the most was how easy it was for you to be a loving, caring, nurturing Dad to Lucas.
