With broken hearts the family announces that John passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, at the age of 64. Beloved husband of Maria for 39 years. Loving Dad to Sania (Tim), Terry and Melanie (Scott). Proud Avo to Amaya, Mackenzie, Emily and Adessa. He will be missed by his mother Jorgeana Demelo, his siblings Joe Teixeira (Filomena), Zelia Furtado (Guilherme), Natalia Melo (Joe), Gabriella Teixeira, Filomena Sousa (Joe), Angie Teixeira, JaIme Teixeira (Fatima), Hortencia Sumerton (John) and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Predeceased by his father Jaime Travassos Teixeira and brother Luis Teixeira. John had such a big heart and will always be remembered as a happy man who loved to help everyone. Relatives and friends will be received at the T. LITTLE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 223 Main Street, Cambridge (519-623-1290) on Friday, October 23rd from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. with Prayers said at 8 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, 210 South Street, Cambridge on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Parklawn Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations made in Joao's name to the Cambridge Memorial Hospital Foundation Donor Wall would be appreciated by his family.
