Judy is survived by her devoted spouse of 56 years, Allen Edward Jones, who remained faithfully by her side throughout a life filled with love, service, and unwavering commitment to others. She will be deeply missed by her many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and cherished friends.
She is predeceased by her son Daniel (2023), and by her siblings Gord, Muriel, Doug, Cliff, Albert, Bill, Rachel and her parents Harry and Violet Maidment.
Born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, Judy moved to Cambridge, Ontario at the age of 18. It was there, at her very first job, that she met the love of her life, Allen. Over the years, Judy built a life rooted in compassion, dedication, and service to others. She was a pillar in her community and a proud, active member of the Salvation Army, always ready to help those in need—offering both a listening ear and heartfelt, actionable advice.
Judy’s professional life was spent working in the legal field, specializing in labour arbitration, where she developed a deep understanding of the legal system. Later, she transitioned into Human Resources, where her compassion and sharp insight left a lasting mark. Her ability to truly listen, understand, and support those around her made her a natural caregiver—not just in title, but in spirit. She was the person everyone turned to in times of need, always willing to babysit, offer counsel, or lend a hand without hesitation.
The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to the staff, nurses and doctors of the Cardiac Care Unit of St. Mary’s Hospital.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Judy’s life is scheduled for Saturday, July 5th at Fairview Mennonite Home, 515 Langs Drive in Cambridge at 1:00 p.m. Donations in her memory may be made to the Salvation Army through Coutts Funeral Home at www.couttsfuneralhome.com
