I often think about this day. I feel so remorseful.  As I replay the catalysis that caused you to be on the road that day, I'm overwhelmed with painful emotions. Your voice haunts me to this very day. Everything about our last conversation aunts me, I've carried this unshakable guilt for many years. Here is the honest truth, you were a   BRAVE, INTELLIGENT AND EMPATHIC WOMEN.  I needed your support that morning because the shift was highly chaotic.  I know you agreed to come to work early because of a crisis, and it breaks my heart to know you lost your life in the process. I was a young woman back then, and I'm currently the age you took your last breath of life.  I often think about you, your family and your beloved fiance.  You were ready and excited to start a new chapter.  I am so very sorry for the pain your loved ones have gone through. Your legacy has inspired me in so many ways. Thank you for trying to do the right thing and support us on that day. I truly pray that the universe/God will bring justice to you and your family. You touched my soul and made a significant impact on my life. I aim to be as brave as you one day. 
May your soul be at peace. 


Not a day goes by without me thinking of you, and how much I miss you. You always made days more fun, made me laugh no matter what kind of mood I was in. 
You knew me so well, and I wish I was able to know you better as well. You had made a promise to me a few days before the accident that one day we would spend a day gardening. I have started a small garden in my own backyard, and every day I think of you when I see it. I smile, remembering all the wonderful memories we shared. I love you. 
Dad and I went to get tattoos in your memory for my 18th birthday, this is mine. You're always with me, both on my arm and in my heart.

I think of Kate often although time goes on and life go on there is a special place in my heart where i hold all our memories. I will miss her until we meet again one day and ill always hold on to those fond moments in my memory. <3

My dearest Kate,
You have been gone for a month now. I miss you more as the days go by. I especially miss you in the evenings when you are not home to chat about the days events over dinner or while sitting in the backyard with the dogs. I missed you tonight while watching the clouds roll in with an approaching storm as we have done since you were a little girl. I miss your laugh and witty sarcasm.
I am so proud of the young woman you became. Three hundred people attended your memorial visitation. Many shared what they loved about you.
Folks you worked with in years past told me how reliable, honest and dedicated to detail you were. They told me about your sense of humor and fun. They also told me you would let them know if they weren't keeping up to your expectations(often with a word of sarcasm!) I told them it was no different at home :)
I was told about your kindness to total strangers. I heard how you took coffee to an older couple who had locked themselves out of their car and insisted they wait in the store with you as it was winter.
I was also told how you rescued baby birds that had fallen from the eves over the store and drove them to the Guelph veterinary school in hope they would be cared for. You always loved the animals. You got that from Dad!
Your Conestoga classmates shared they looked up to you as a straight A student. Your instructors said you were a natural teacher with extraordinary patience. One person shared you worked with a young child at a school last year who screamed for 30 minutes on a regular basis. Patience!!
I was told you were a support to several in your course and to one classmate in particular who became your "project." She is returning to class in September and said thank you to you.
I was so proud of you when you were given a leadership award as well as when you made the Deans List. I was also proud that one of the teachers asked if you would consider supplying for the board of education before you completed your diploma. 
The staff and parents of residents at Hopewell shared how devastated they were to lose you. It was a summer job to help you pay for your education but it was an excellent learning experience. I hope no one blames themselves for calling you in early that morning. There was no way of predicting the accident. One of the residents' mother told me her child made more progress in the few months you worked with her than others had been able to make. The two of you shared a special connection. I was so grateful to hear that you were making the impact you wanted to make. I hugged her tight!
Many of your friends continue to call and visit. Some of them you have known since kindergarten while others you have known for a shorter period of time but made an impact on their lives. To a special few, your death has been a life altering event. And then there is Brandon. He loves you so much. I'm glad he stops in regularly to visit.I wish I could ease his pain.
Dad, David, Brandon and I try to comfort each other while our hearts ache.
Family and friends join in our mourning of you. Many have shown us great love and caring. It helps us remember to have hope for the future. I am grateful to them one and all.

Kate, I was blessed to have you walk into my life in 2013 from the moment we met I knew we would be the best of friends and we were. I only wish I could have had you in my life longer. Kate helped me through many obstacles I was facing and was one of my biggest supporters. I will miss her terribly and she will stay in my heart forever. My thoughts and prayers remain with Katelyns family, Brandon and his family and everyone she touched in this world. Rest in peace my beautiful friend.

My heart is forever broken, but I am so blessed to call my sister. My children will be raised always knowing of their Auntie Kate and what an impact she had on my life.
I tried to think of some of my fondest memories, but couldn't come up with just one or two. My greatest memory will always be her presence in my life and what value she added to it.

I miss you everyday that goes by. I think about how you were taken too early from all of us. I then force myself to think about the 20 plus years of amazing memories I was grateful enough to share with such an amazing person. I remember how we used to argue about who was Kate or Katelyn. You of course won as Kate #1 only because you were older and i let you haha! I remember when we used to dress up my brother and the other kids at your moms daycare. They hated us for it but we absolutely loved it!!! I remember when you and I would have a fight ( like we had any of those :p haha ) and you would storm home (all the way across the street lol ). It didn't last long because I could see your bedroom window from my house and would make faces at you. I think about the times when we would play spice girls and you would always be Emma and me Ginger! I think about the times we pretended to be whales and dolphins in our pools and rush out when we said "shark"!! I remembered you loved dolphins and whales, your mom always had to yell at us to get out of the pool!! You then moved to across the street and then we got a pool!! I think about the times where we would go on adventures and laugh for hours. I think about the endless sleepovers we had and our attempts to sleep outside in the tent. We always said there was something scary outside so we never had to stay out there all night!! I think about the multiple times that Helen would yell at us to go to sleep because we were up talking all night and having so much fun.I was in your bedroom the other day and wished you had the basement room when we were growing up so it would be easier to sneak in and out LOL. I think about the times were we grew up together experiencing first kisses, boyfriends and other experiences. I think about the times where you would just show up at my house after months of not talking and say " Hey!! What's up dude"! Haha god you were so short I could never see you at the door but was always so happy to see you. I think about the times when we would go months without talking and we were able to pick up where we left off like it was just yesterday. I think about the time you came to my house after the for sale sign went up and said " ummm excuse me you can't move! I don't approve of this!!" You were always there when big life events happened. I remember the last birthday you came to. Everyone loved you and we had a great time. I wish we would have kept in touch more but I understand life gets busy. These memories are the reason why so many people loved/love you. I am so grateful to have had the honor to know you and love you for over 20 plus years. I don't know what I did to deserve so many amazing years being in your life. There isn't a day that goes by that I do not think of you and the memories I was so grateful to share ❤

The world lost a truly amazing young woman in such a tragic way. She had a certain spunk to her that always entertained and made her an absolute pleasure to be around. Kate was one of a kind and had a heart of gold. 

My sincere condolences to all of the Lindsay family and Brandon. I cannot imagine the amount of pain and heartache you must be experiencing. Kate was loved by all who knew her and will be missed by all.
