

Laura was born to the late John and Emma Cooper, in Katrine Ontario. She married Dennis "Red" Ball in 1945. After living and working at London Life in Toronto, Laura and "Red" moved to Kirkland Lake. Laura worked for Walter Little Transport Ltd. and later for Dr. Nawaz, a local optometrist. Among other varied interests Laura was an active member of Branch 87 Royal Canadian Legion. Laura remained in Kirkland Lake after the death of her husband "Red" in 1970. After reconnecting with a former school friend, Watson Teed in 1981, they married in 1983. Laura relocated to Ingersoll, Ontario, where Watson was employed. Laura and Watson were active, playing bridge and darts, as well as members of the Legion. After Watson's passing in 1999, Laura remained in Ingersoll until 2005 when she moved to Cambridge, Ontario to be closer to her daughter Marlene Williams. Laura lived in a senior residence, until failing health forced her to move to Hilltop where she passed away.
Laura is survived by her daughter Marlene of Cambridge, Ontario, son David Ball (Debbie) of Collingwood Ontario, and son Brian Ball (Paulette) of Roanoke Va. Laura was predeceased by her great-grandson Kieran in 2016. She leaves 4 grandchildren: Lauri, Randa, David and Jessica, and 7 great-grandchildren. She also leaves step-sons John Teed (Ann) and Ken Teed and step-daughter Mary-Ann. She was pre- deceased by Jim Teed. Laura also leaves three step- grandchildren Mickey, Tyler, and Ryan.
Cremation has taken place and Laura will be laid to rest with her husband Dennis" Red" Ball at the Kirkland Lake Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Laura was referred to as a sweet lady by many of her caregivers in her later years. A special thank you to Dr. Crosby, Kim and the staff of Hilltop Manor for their guidance and compassionate care.
