Len was one of the good ones.

As others have mentioned, soft spoken but deep in thought.

It was a pleasure to work with him, and when we spoke he was always mentioning the kids.

I know the toughest part is missing him.

But, he lives on in both of you.

It is of great shock and sadness to hear of the passing of my BFF Len Boyle.  I've been walking around in a fog since opening a text from Owen. So many memories of our trio of three, playing cards with the "Tiger" at all times of day or night, fishing trips to Gowganda, and discussing life either in his basement or 1967 Beaumont.  Others talk of Len as quiet and gentle. Yes, he was also a deep thinker, highly intelligent, a philosopher of life. He had great compassion for animals remembering his dogs Lucy and Mis. His well loved family dog lived 18 years.  Len had a tremendous work ethic and career. He was a obligated perfectionist in all he did.  My deepest sympathies to Teresa, Mary, Gerry, Brian. My very deepest sympathies to Norma, Emily and Aidan.  Rest in peace Brother... now u can go fishing anytime you want... Bill

Condolences go to the family. I worked with Len for about 11yrs. He always tried to be fair and accomodate everybody, the best he could . He was a very good listener, we talked a lot about our families and issues going in/out of work and he always tried to find the best solution for any kind of situation. He was always very professional. Throughout my career, Len was by far one of the best managers I ever had. He will be missed by everyone in the meat department.

You always presented a crusty manager vibe to mere mortals but we all knew better. You always loved a good joke. You were a loyal friend. Judging by the frequent purchases of shopping carts of cat litter and supplies,  you were a great cat Dad.  You spoke often of how proud you were of your kids and the great value you placed in sharing time with them. You are missed by all who had the pleasure of sharing time with the real Len. Leonard was a true friend, one of those rare people who loved without judgement. He was kind and deeply caring of humans and animals alike as this picture shows. Here he is, greeting my dog Gemma and feline Stella , they loved him as much as he loved them. Rest in peace, my dear Leonard. My sincerest and most heartfelt condolences to your children Emily and Aidan, whom you so cherished and loved, and to all in the Boyle family.

Four years ago I franchised the Fortinos on Upper Middle & Guelph Line in Burlington where Len worked.  Len impressed me right from the start, with his knowledge of the business but more importantly his passion for it.  In a very short period of time Len became someone I could lean on for advice, and someone I respected greatly.  He was a decent and kind human being with a heart of gold.  He will always have a special place in the hearts of all the employees at the store, and will never be forgotten.  We miss you Len.

I was very saddened to hear the news of the sudden passing of my friend and colleague Len Boyle.  We actually started our journey years ago when we worked for Miracle Food Mart and met at a Store Managers Training Program.  We connected right away! 
Our paths went in different directions within the company, until a few years later we would have the opportunity to work as a team with Food Basics.  These were career building years for both of us.
Working with Len was always an interesting experience.  He had the ability to stir things up and then always be able to calm the waters. He was very serious and dedicated to his job and he loved sharing stories about his kids Aden and Emily.  He was so proud of them.
Len your legacy will live on.  Rest In Peace my friend.

I have known Len for over 30 years and met him during my working career in the food business.  He had a warmth and respect for people - always willing to listen.  He was a successful professional in the meat industry and a mentor to many.  Although a quiet and humble man, I will miss his sarcasm and chuckles.  He had a great love for his family and spoke of his children often.
Len was my friend and a colleague and will be missed.

Len was one of the best managers I ever had the privilege to work with. Len knew my abilities and was happy when I earned my way up.  I am so sorry for the loss to his loves ones and family. His is a space that can't be filled.
