It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Louise Davidge of Cambridge, Ontario, who peacefully left us on Monday, February 3, 2025, at the age of 93, at Grand River Freeport Hospital.
Louise is predeceased by her beloved second husband, Jim Davidge. She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Paul Robert Barber (Raquel) of Milton. She was a devoted sister to Shirley Reed (late Harold), Donald Hunter (late Sylvia), and Bruce Hunter (Nancy), and is predeceased by her twin brother, Les Hunter (late Anne).
One of Louise's greatest joys was her family, and she was immensely proud of her granddaughter, Amy Barber-Maclean (Matt), and her great-grandson, Alec.
A dedicated member of her community, Louise served on the Hanover Hospital Board and as the Queen of the Hanover Red Hat Society, where she organized memorable galas. She was also a faithful member of the United Church Women, attending both Crawford and Cedar Hill United Churches.
Beyond her community involvement, Louise was known as an avid storyteller, enthusiastic photographer, a skilled Scrabble player, and, in her later years, a bit of a computer whiz, embracing technology and the internet.
Louise's love, strength, and generosity of spirit will be remembered by all who knew her. Her legacy of kindness and service will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and community.
A private family service will be held in her memory. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society or other charity.
