It is with heavy hearts that we announce Manuel’s passing on Friday, July 26, 2019 at Cambridge Memorial Hospital surrounded by the love of his family at the age of 69. Manuel is at peace after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Beloved husband to Ana Maria, loving father to his two sons Steven (Gabriela) and Angelo, proud Avô to Destini (Matthew), Celina and Marcus, dear brother to José (Liduina), Ascensão (Manuel), Ernesto (Idalina) and Isabel (José Antonio), son-in-law to Filomena Bairos and brother-in-law to Maria da Gloria, Manuel (Conceição), José Antonio (Maria Rosa), Armando (Natalia) and Estrelinha (Eduardo). Manuel is predeceased by his parents Angelo and Maria Cabral, his nephew James Perinho, his father-in-law Antonio Bairos and his brother-in-law Antonio Pacheco-Medeiros. Manuel will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his nieces, nephews and Godchildren.
Manuel was a family man who loved nothing more than spending time with those he loved. Those who knew him would describe him as a kind man who loved to help others. He was very talented, a jack-of-all trades who was quick to help his friends and family with his talents. He also had a talent for cooking and loved to cook (and eat!) with and for those close to him. Manuel loved his work, he worked for many years at Walker Exhaust where he made many friendships with his fellow coworkers along with management. He was lucky enough to have the opportunity to travel for work, something he loved to do both in his work and personal life. Manual was also very proud to have served with the Portuguese Military where he was stationed in Guinea-Bissau, Africa in the early 70’s.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at St. Patrick’s Parish, 53 Wellington Street, Cambridge at 11 a.m. In keeping with his wishes, cremation will follow.
