

With heavy hearts, we announce Maria's peaceful passing on Friday, January 3, 2025 at Lisaard House at the age of 83. Born in Faial, Azores, in 1941, Maria immigrated to Canada in 1961 and became a cherished member of her community.
Maria is the beloved mother of Elsie Wagner (Jim), Victor Correia and Marlene Tostik. Proud and doting Avó to Wesley Melo (Marcella), Aaron Melo (Jori-Lee), Michael Wagner (Lindsey), Steven Wagner (Anna), Mya Tostik (Mark) and Hanna Tostik (Abdoulaye). Her legacy lives on through her great-grandchildren: Grace, Jake, Reid, Hudson, and Mason. Dear sister to: Maria F. Dutra, Jose Quadros and sister-in-law to Jose Amaral.
She is predeceased by and reunited once again with her beloved husband, Jose Victor Correia, her parents, Jose and Maria Neves Quadros, her sister, Maria Alexandrina Amaral, sister-in-law, Natalia Quadros and her brother-in-law, Manuel Dutra. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
Maria was a talented cook, gardener, and seamstress who shared her passions generously. She volunteered her time and skills at Our Lady of Fatima Church and the Portuguese Club of Cambridge, where she was a proud and active member.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Coutts Funeral Home, 96 St. Andrew Street, Cambridge, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., with a rosary service beginning at 8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, January 10, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 185 Elgin Street, Cambridge. Maria will be laid to rest at Mount View Cemetery, Cambridge alongside her husband Jose.
As expressions of sympathy, donations made in Maria's memory to the Lisaard House would be gratefully appreciated.
