Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on August 29, 2016 at Cambridge Memorial Hospital at the age of 71. Loving Dad to Debbie (David) DaSilva, Susan Ferreira (Richard Alegre) and Mario Jr. Cherished Avô to Kyle Alegre. Forever remembered by his siblings Adora Cabral, Manuela Borges, Paul Ferreira and Deborah Texeira. Mario will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and family. Born in the Azores, Mario made Canada his home in 1974. He will always be remembered for his sense of humour, love of Benfica Soccer, Toronto Blue Jays and Maple Leafs. Mario was well loved and will be missed by all those who knew him. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Fatima RC Church 185 Elgin Street South, on Thursday September 1st at 11am. Burial to follow at Parklawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation towards funeral expenses would be appreciated by the family. Funeral arrangements entrusted to T.
