November 4, 1927 – August 27, 2012
There is never the right way to speak about the loss of a member of our family; however, today we must sadly announce the loss of our dear Nellie Frances Trachy. Her warm smile will be missed by all who knew her and her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her. Nellie will be remembered for being an outgoing and outspoken lady with a heart of gold.
Nellie passed away peacefully on Monday August 27th. She now goes to join her loving husband Ben who left her suddenly in 2003. Being with Ben and having him there to greet her is a great comfort to all of us who will miss her.
Nellie is survived by her son Frank Trachy and by her daughter Marilyn Fisher and son-in-law Bob of Puslinch. Nellie will be remembered by her sister Ethel, Molly and Florence, and by her sister-in-law Agnes Oke.
Predeceased by her parents David and Molly Clarke of Glace Bay, Nova Scotia and by her sisters Blanche Morrison, Alice Pappas and by her brothers David Clarke and Baxter Clarke.
Loving Nanny to Margaret, Lyle and Ben and to Bobby and Amanda, with whom she shared so much of her precious time. Nanny told stories to her great grandchildren: Liam, Ben, Andrew, Ada and Finley and sang them the most wonderful songs. Nellie loved to Garden and had prided herself with the unique variety of roses that she nurtured ever so carefully.
Nellie is also survived by over 60 nieces and nephews and by many friends that she met during her long life. Nellie was 84 years young.
At Nellie’s request there will be no visitation. She had requested donations to the Cambridge Memorial Hospital Foundation instead of a funeral.
The family thanks you for all of the kind wishes that we have received at this difficult time.
