Beloved wife of Rick Potter for 66 years, recently celebrating their anniversary on March 21. Loving mother of Ryan (Cinda), the late Scott, Diana (Ray), and Amy (Neal). Cherished Grandma of Megan (Mike), Julia (Charles), Jennifer (Scott), Sunny (Jay), Katie (Tristan), Sarah, Jake, Bradley, and Seamus. Adored Great-Grandma of Addison, Bodie, and Nora.
Norma was a devoted wife and mother whose life was enriched by her love of travel. Due to Rick’s football and career in the home furnishings industry, they lived in Winnipeg, Vancouver, Chicago, Toronto, Collingwood, Montreal, and for the last 35 years, Cambridge. No matter where she lived, Norma had a remarkable ability to make friends easily. She was a wonderful hostess who genuinely loved bringing people together, often organizing and hosting memorable get-togethers.
She enjoyed a fulfilling career as a nurse, working in Toronto, Winnipeg, and Chicago. She was also a dedicated volunteer and enjoyed the work that she did for Lisaard House in Cambridge. A longtime member of Calvary Pentecostal Assembly, Norma was known for her warmth, kindness, and devotion to visiting shut-ins. She always made time for coffee with friends and will be deeply missed by all who knew her, especially her nine grandchildren.
Norma is lovingly remembered by her siblings Jean and Carol, and is predeceased by her parents, Lawrence and Hazel Neil and her brother Ron.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Calvary Pentecostal Assembly, 127, Hespeler Road, Cambridge on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., with visitation beginning at 11:30 a.m.
