

It is with great sadness that the family of Ottje Davidson announces her passing on Saturday April 16, 2011 at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital in her 68th year surrounded by the love of her children after a courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by her husband Ellis Davidson of Cambridge, and her parents Kees and Henny deHaan of Pembroke. Ottje with her parents and other siblings immigrated to Canada from Holland in 1951 first settling in Pembroke and she later moved to Cambridge where she raised her family. A loving mother to her children Steven and Rita Davidson, of Cambridge; Faye and Bob Crane, of Guelph; Donald and Sandra Davidson, of Cambridge; Patricia and Lloyd Moore of Pembroke, and Donna and Jim Davidson-Dueck, of Cambridge. Survived by her eleven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, one brother, and four sisters. Predceased by one brother. Ottje worked hard along side her husband operating D & D Lumber. She was known for her ability to not only drive a lumber truck but to also perk an amazing pot of coffee which was accompanied with a tin of cookies. In later years together they operated ASC Sales and Auctions. She will be remembered always in our hearts. Visitation will be held at the T. LITTLE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 223 Main Street, Cambridge,(519-623-1290) on Tuesday evening from 7:00 – 9:00 pm and Wednesday morning from 10:00 – 11:00 am, where a service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday morning April 20, 2011 at 11 am. Interment Mount View Cemetery. In memory of Ottje donations may be made to the Cambridge and District Humane Society, or your local SPCA. The family would like to express their appreciation to CCAC for their support, extended thanks to Cathy (PSW) and Joanne (nurse) for their home support, as well as the CMH Oncology staff, nurses and doctors.
