Patricia’s joyful heart and lively spirit touched everyone, fortunate enough to know her. Her love for life and others was evident in everything she did. She will be missed and loved always. She was a social butterfly, the life of any party, and had an irresistible charm. She loved to play board games and cards, chat with friends, tearing up the dance floor any chance she could get, and baking sweet dishes in her kitchen for the community and loved ones. She loved vacationing in Cuba, and cherished the culture, the people and the music during her many trips there.
Patricia's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful staff at St. Mary's Hospital, 7th Floor, and at Innisfree House, for the compassion and love they showed Patricia during her time there.
Goodbyes are only for those who love with their eyes. Because for those who love with heart and soul, there is no such thing as separation.
Patricia survived by her beloved daughters Marion (Robert) Wilkinson and Gwen (Kelly) Schultz. She will be forever missed by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Kenny (Ashley), Matthew (Rachel), Melisa (Justin), Samantha, Grey, Kenzie, Liam, Grace, Amelia, Madelyn and Freya. She is also mourned by her siblings Shirley Near and Rosemary (Jim) Waterman, many nieces and nephews, and a community of dear friends.
She is now reunited with her beloved husband Everitt Swan; their treasured sons Gary, Mark and Michael; her parents Albert and Barbara Zimmerman; and siblings Donnie, Joyce and Laurie. She also joins her cherished dog Peanut, who she adored deeply.
Details of a celebration of life will be released at a later date. We will share stories, music, and dances in her honor – just as she would have wanted.
As an expression of sympathy memorial donations may be made to the Innisfree House or to the Kitchener Waterloo Humane Society.
