Richard Maxwell Wood

It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden death of Richard Maxwell Wood. Richard was the son of the late Edna and Kenneth Wood, dear brother to Nancy (deceased), and loving husband of Susan (Smith). Pre-deceased by daughter Catherine (Gordon), son David (Jo-Anne), and son Timothy (Holly). Survived by son Ian (Lisa) and twelve cherished grandchildren. Richard (Dick) was a proud Queen’s University Engineering Graduate, spending most of his career travelling the world for Babcock & Wilcox Canada Ltd. Dick spent several years, and many dedicated hours, on the board of the Cambridge Memorial Hospital Foundation. He was an avid golfer and curler, but his true love was hockey. Whether playing for Queen’s University, or watching one of his many grandchildren play, Dick could often be found in an arena. Dick cherished the many hours he spent with his loved ones, but when not attending family events, Dick’s favourite place to be was his cottage in beautiful Lake of Bays. The family would like to express their appreciation to CCAC for the wonderful home care provided for many months. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 5, 2018 from 7pm-9pm at COUTTS FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE -96 St. Andrew’s Street, Cambridge (519-621-1650). Funeral service will be held on Saturday January 6, 2018 at Trinity Anglican Church -12 Blair Road, Cambridge at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cambridge Memorial Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
