Bob is survived and dearly missed by his wife of 57 years, Margaret, and his daughters; Francine (Mark) Warner, Tammy (Chris) Donahue, and Tanya Rowley. Bob had 7 grandchildren; Alexander, Kayla (Gordon), Matthew, Zachary, Jonah, Emily & Katelyn. He was the proud Great Opa of Noah, Madelyn & Violet. Bob is also survived by his siblings Harvey (Janet) Rowley & Wayne (Brenda) Rowley, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Frank (1965) & Gladys Mae Haycock (1983) Rowley, and sibling, Linda (Paul) Smith (2019).
Bob was born June 14, 1938 at St. Andrew’s Hospital in Galt. He had a passion for travel in his early years before meeting Margaret and marrying in 1968. Bob had many jobs throughout the years, never letting the grass grow under his feet. He started his employment journey in the family business, “Rowley’s Colour Shop”, at the young age of 14. Bob was a “colour expert” who worked in textiles at Galtex, Newlands, & Penmans. And when there was no work, he would pick up odd jobs cleaning restaurants, bagging groceries and delivering newspapers. Bob was recognized throughout the Galt area for delivering the Cambridge Reporter & the Cambridge Times newspapers well into his senior years.
Bob was well known for his wit, amazing work ethic and his ability to make friends everywhere he went. He was devoted to his family and his pets, putting them first above all. Although singing was not something he was known for, he would often be found in the kitchen singing “Michael Row Your Boat Ashore” while doing the dishes. Bob loved people and would often bring them home for a hot meal. Bob was a lover of all animals and had a quiet way of connecting with them. He was a “Master Collector” of stamps, coins, trains, football cards, Coca Cola products, and pretty well anything else you can imagine.
Arrangements have been entrusted to T. Little Funeral Home. A visitation will take place on Friday, September 5th from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM at T. Little Funeral Home, 223 Main Street. Burial to follow at 2:30 PM at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 2723 Victoria Street North, Breslau.
We would like to thank the ICU nurses and doctors of Cambridge Memorial Hospital for the kind and gentle care he received. Their compassion towards Bob’s family was heartfelt.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
