Rosie was a strong and loving friend, mother, and grandmother. Nicknamed “Smiley” by some of her care providers, Rosie also had a strong sense of humour. She was truly an inspiration to all of us. Rosie volunteered at the Fiddlesticks Neighbourhood Association for 11 years, and received a Volunteer Lifetime Achievement Award in 2020. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her parents Thelma and Michael Mendonca, sister Sonia Mendonca, brothers Peter and Richard Mendonca, sons Andrew (Brenda), Ryan (Catherine), and Robert (Jill), and her precious grandchildren Michael (age 5), Grant (age 3), Edison and Winston (age 2), Zoe (2 months), Ryker (age 10), and Audrey (age 7). Cremation has taken place. Friends and relatives are invited to drop-in to Rosie’s Celebration of Life on Thursday, March 12th at Coutts Funeral Home from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The family would like to extend a special thank-you to the staff and care workers at Hilltop Manor for their loving care of Rosie, and to Kim Fowler, her dear and supportive friend. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the MS Society of Canada.
