She was a devoted and loving wife to her husband Eduino (pre-deceased 2019) for 64 years, before moving into a retirement home where she continued to be the mother, grandmother and great grandmother that we all adored. She will be greatly missed.
She will remain in the hearts of her children; Heraldo (Judy), Ed (Dena) and Elmira (Lance), her beloved seven grandchildren and eleven great- grandchildren. Teresinha is remembered by her sister Amelia and family and friends from Cambridge, Oakville, Rhode Island, California and Azores. She is predeceased by 6 siblings and her granddaughter Melanie.
Teresinha and their 3 children came to Canada in 1962 to join her husband as they started their new life in a new country. Her courage, strength and strong work ethic helped to create many lasting relationships in the textile industry, while maintaining a household and learning a new language and customs.
She could crochet anything just by looking at a photo. You can find her creations in the homes of her beloved family. She enjoyed port wine, making massa, torresmos, and many other culinary delights for the many family gatherings over the years.
Visiting her family in Oakville was a frequent event that continued as long as she was able. She loved her visits to her birth place in Faial Azores, as well as visiting her family in California and Rhode Island.
