Arthur Allen Howell was born on August 5, 1954 in Lafayette, Arkansas to Alexander Howell and Lenora Jackson. Arthur was the oldest son of two children, himself, and Freddie L. Howell. Shortly after his birth, the family relocated to Los Angeles, California. In 1972, Arthur graduated from high school and entered the United States Navy, where he fought in the Vietnam War and received an Honorable Discharge in 1975. While attending College of Alameda in Alameda, California, Arthur met Pamela Waiters. A year later they were married in holy matrimony on November 27, 1976 in Reno, Nevada. They lived in Hayward, California and from their union 9 years later, they had a daughter, Janelle Lenora Howell.
Four years later they moved to Modesto, California, and had a son, Jarrell Essex Howell.
Arthur was a talented and hardworking man who loved his family and his job. Arthur was employed at Reynolds Aluminum for 20 years, and Workflow for 10 years.
His favorite hobbies were landscaping, maintaining his 55-gallon fish tank, and listening to jazz music. Arthur loved talking about military history, politics, and the various specials on the Discovery Channel to anyone who shared his visions and beliefs.
At any time, you could always count on Arthur to be there. He would give you the shirt off his back. He was a faithful Christian, who helped others with compassion and sincerity. He liked saying, “Get while the gettin’ is good” whether it was in reference to a sale at the local store, or pursuing a great opportunity because it may not be there when you come back.
On July 16, 2010, the Lord called Arthur home. Left to mourn his passing are: his faithful wife of 33 years (almost 34 in November), Pamela Howell; daughter Janelle Lenora Howell; son, Jarrell Essex Howell all of Camp Hill, Pennsylvania; his father Alexander Howell has preceded him in death; mother Lenora Ballou, brother Freddie L. Howell, sister-in-law Beverly Howell, niece Michelle Howell of; half-sister Karen Brown, and niece Jasmine Adkins all of Los Angeles, California; and father-in-law Lloyd Whenfort Waiters of Stockon, California. He leaves behind a host of sister-in-laws, cousins, relatives, and friends.
