

Charles (Chuck) W. Stanton, 74 of Mechanicsburg, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, December, 29th, 2014. He was born on April 6th 1940 in Schenectady, NY. He was raised in Buffalo, NY and was proud to have worked with the police to form the first in the nation Police Athletic League. He left Buffalo to serve 4 years with the Army 27th Tank Infantry and then transferred to the Marine Corp to serve 6 years in Vietnam with the 1st Marine Division Recon as a Tunnel rat. After Vietnam, Chuck moved to California where he worked for MacDonald Douglas on the Apollo Space Craft. He later joined Honeywell offshore oil drilling as a computer electronics engineer.
Chuck was a patriot and loved to display the Stars & Stripes and the Marine Corp flag. He enjoyed camping, fishing, swimming and football and loved his best buddy (Charlie) the cat. He always loved helping neighbors and friends and worked with an orphanage in California helping many children. He is survived by his loving wife Bluette Mary, 5 step-children, Bluette Brooks of Lexington, SC, Janine Wilson of Coeur d’Alene, ID, Mark Jones of Camp Hill, PA, Timothy Jones of Mechanicsburg, PA and Mary Lynn Ealey of Taylorsville, KY. 9 grandchildren- Cara & Alex Brooks, Kalina & Nicoya Wilson, Michelina Kovarnik & Pamela Jones, Ryan & Conner Jones and Nicholas Ealey, as well as 1 great-grand daughter-Gabriella Kovarnik.
He is also survived by a brother, Warren J. Stanton and wife Nancy of Mechanicsburg, PA, a sister Carlene Hillyard and husband Jim of Rushford, NY, and a sister Rosemary McFadden of Ontario, Canada, a cousin Richard Harris and wife Roxanna of Albany, NY as well as many nieces and nephews . His brother-in-law-David d’Ascoli and Christine of Somerset, England and a sister-in-law Penelope Easton of Canterbury, England.
Funeral service will be 12:00 Pm Saturday January 3, 2015 at Neill Funeral Home, 3401 Market St. Camp Hill, with viewing from 11:00 to 12:00 prior to service. Interment will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park.
