

Edgar D. Coombs, 67, of Camp Hill, was unexpectedly taken from our lives on June 6, 2012. Born on May 2, 1945, in Harrisburg, PA, he was the son of the late William P. Coombs and Agnes V. (Mertz) Coombs.
He was a graduate of Cumberland Valley High School, class of 1963. He was of the protestant faith.
Ed was a general contractor and founder of Coombs Construction, was the property manager for various properties he owned, and recently became a partner in a Little Caesar’s franchise. He was most proud of his last big project doing the construction for the Fusion Fire restaurant. In his earlier years, he was a charter member of the Knights of the Brown Bottle. He loved to work at his craft, wear wild Hawaiian shirts, relax while watching his tropical fish and listen to disco music.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Wendy L. (Beavers) Coombs, of Camp Hill, and son, Edgar Garret Coombs, formerly of Flagstaff, AZ, currently residing in Camp Hill.
In addition to Wendy and Garret, he leaves behind his sister, Elaine C. Riel (husband Gerald) of Mechanicsburg; his brother, Phillip W. Coombs (wife Debra) of Camp Hill; his uncle, Edgar T. Mertz (wife Patricia) of Nashville, TN; three nieces and two nephews. He also leaves behind Wendy’s aunt, Grace Grimm, of Hummelstown and Grace’s three daughters.
Memorial service will be conducted 7:00 PM, Friday, June 22, 2012, from Neill Funeral Home, 3401 Market St. Camp Hill, visitation will be one hour prior to service.
