Hilda I. Shop Phillips

She was born in Elizabethville, PA on April 22, 1918 to the late Damon and Grace (Henninger) Shoop.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dr. Vernon R. Phillips, a son Thomas Phillips, a sister Ethel Shoop and a brother Marlin Shoop.

Hilda graduated salutatorian from Lykens Valley Vocational School in 1937. She was passionate about music and was an organist for and a member of Discover Church (Camp Hill Alliance Church) for many years.

Hilda had a great love and commitment to her family. She is survived by her sons Richard Phillips and his wife Elaine from Forksville, David Phillips and his wife Veronica from Mechanicsburg and Jeffrey Phillips and his wife Barbara from Camp Hill; her sisters Ruth Troutman, Jean Schreffler, June Straub and Sandy Kratzer. She was also blessed with seven grandchildren; Anthony, Donald, Jon, Sam, Scott, Amy and Daniel and 12 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 15, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Discover Church (Camp Hill Alliance Church), 769 Meadow Drive, Camp Hill, PA followed by services at 11:00 a.m. Burial to follow at Evangelical Cemetery in Berrysburg, PA.
