

James H. “Looker” Lutz, JR., 66, of Elliottsburg, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2016, in Hershey Medical Center. Born December 6, 1949, in Harrisburg, he was the son of the late James H. Lutz, Sr., and Bertha (Rader) Lutz. He attended Bishop McDevitt High School and graduated from William Penn High School.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Navy, and was later in the Navy Seabees and then transferring to the 193rd Special Operations Unit of the Air Force. He had served with distinction for 22 years. He enjoyed playing softball, coaching Special Olympics Basketball, coaching football, watching Notre Dame Football, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a devout Catholic, a 4th degree Knight of Columbus, and a loving father and husband.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine E. (Cavrich) Lutz, of Elliottsburg, his children, Allison and James III; grandchildren, Emily, Bradley, Henry, Parker and Charlotte; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Linda.
A viewing will be held Thursday, February 25, 2016, 6:00 – 8:00 pm, in the Neill Funeral Home, 3401 Market Street, Camp Hill, PA. A funeral service will be held at 12:30 pm, Friday, February 26, 2016, in the funeral home, with a viewing one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
