Jane Ruth Harding

Jane Ruth (Pixley) Harding, age 94, of The Woods at Cedar Run, 824 Lisburn Road, Camp Hill, PA, passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2016. She was born on Saint Patrick's Day, March 17, 1922, in Philipsburg PA, daughter of the late Franklin Pixley and Florence Tracy Pixley. Jane was the widow of T. Paul Harding, to whom she was married for 62 years. She was preceded in death by her sister June McNeish and brother Robert Pixley. Jane graduated from Philipsburg High School. She served in the US Navy during WWII as a Specialist 3rd Class stationed in Washington, DC. She supported her husband when he started the Oasis Tavern in Philipsburg, and later was an active partner in Harding's Restaurant in Camp Hill, PA. Jane had a great sense of humor and loved to travel with Paul, seeing many parts of the world. She was a member of Saint Theresa Catholic Church in New Cumberland. Jane is survived by her two sons: Thomas and wife Karen of Mechanicsburg, PA, and Robert and wife Pat of Lebanon, PA. Jane was "Marcy" to her four grandchildren: Tim Harding of Mechanicsburg; Lisa Frazine and husband Adam of Sinking Spring, PA; Meghan Van Bussum and husband Matt of St. Augustine, FL; and Rob Harding of Lebanon, PA., as well as to her three great-grandchildren Noah, Zachary, and Lucy. She is also survived by niece Gail (Bill) Keen, who showed unfailing devotion to her aunt, as well as many other loving nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff of The Woods and Hospice For All Seasons, who all provided such affectionate care for Jane and for her husband before her. Viewing will be held from 7-9 PM on Thursday, March 31 at Neill Funeral Home, 3401 Market Street, Camp Hill, PA. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Friday, April 1, 2016 at Saint Theresa Catholic Church, 1300 Bridge Street, New Cumberland PA 17070. Burial will be at Rolling Green Cemetery in Camp Hill. Memorial contributions would be gratefully accepted by Hospice For All Seasons, 280 South Hill Drive, Grantville, PA 17028.
