1st SGT John Edward Stoltz RET. 72, passed away at home in Enola on December 10, 2020 after a courageous but short battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born on April 10, 1948 in West Grove, PA, Chester county, to Edward and Elsie Stoltz. John bravely joined the U.S. Air Force at the age of 17 in August of 1966. His honorable military service sent him to Texas, Colorado, Idaho, Vietnam, Thailand, England, California, Virginia, Arizona, and New Jersey. John retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1991 after 25 years. Then he started at the department of labor and industry to help veterans get employment and benefits until his second retirement in 2014.
John met the love of his life, Linda, while stationed in Alconbury, England. John and Linda married in September 1976. John enjoyed fishing, playing poker, watching comedies, going to the beach, building model airplanes, and spending time with family and friends.
John was proceeded in death by his parents, brother Fritz, sister Jean, and many wonderful dogs.
He is survived by his loving wife Linda, His son Jeff and wife Amy Stoltz, Daughter Karen Seidel, Daughter Diane and husband Lionel Alarcon. He will also be missed by his seven grandchildren: Haley, Veronica, Sophia, Sydney, Alex, Max, and Phoenix, as well as many other family and friends at home and abroad.
John was taken away from us all too soon and we hope and pray he left a lasting impression on all who met him. He will be missed so dearly. He left us with heavy hearts and a void that will never be replaced. We all love you so much. Thank you, John, a true American and patriot to his beautiful country.
A visitation will be held on Friday, December 18, 2020 from 6:00-7:00pm at Neill Funeral Home; 3401 Market Street, Camp Hill, PA 17011. A memorial service will be held at 7:00pm. An interment will be scheduled with Indiantown National Gap at a later date.
