Ralph “Jess” James, 81, of Camp Hill, PA, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2020. He was born on July 8, 1939 in Shamokin, PA to Peter F. James and Flossie E. James (Fisher). He graduated from Coal Township High School in 1957. Jess worked for many years at Quaker Oats Company in Shiremanstown. He and his beloved spouse Frances “Franky” James recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on November 12th.
Due to his quiet, kind, and generous nature, Jess was loved by everyone he met. True to his character, he battled his lengthy illness with strength, dignity and grace. He was a man of deep faith and loved his family more than anything else in the world. On his final day, Jess passed at home surrounded by his wife, children and parish pastor.
Aside from being survived by his wife, Franky, he also leaves behind his sons Steven James and Mark James, daughters Michelle Miles (Jon), and Alyson Urban (Joseph). Jess now joins his son Matthew James in heaven who passed away in 2016 and his grandson Tony who passed away in 2011. He is also survived by 10 loving grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, a brother, Peter James and three sisters, Donna Mascuch, Peggy Kabonick and Deb Sienkiewicz.
