Stella M. Burgard, 69, of Duncannon, PA, passed away Saturday, October 20, 2012. She was born November 17, 1942 in Doylesburg, PA, daughter of the late John and Myrtle (Yocum) Collins.
For most of her life, Stella worked as a floral designer, displaying her unique talent and skills at floral boutiques including, Perfect Affair in Enola. She also demonstrated her creative abilities in the world of arts and crafts for many years – a passion she shared with her late mother and father. Stella enjoyed vacationing in different countries especially, Africa which was one of the highlights of her life. As a volunteer for Duncannon EMS, she was always there and ready to help from cooking her famous soups to setting up for special events.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Gene Burgard.
She is survived by her friend and companion Gene Hoffman, of Duncannon, a son: Bret L. Stockslager and his fiancé Kathy Defenderfer ; sister Diana K. and husband William Keebaugh; two granddaughters Gabriella L. and Raeleigh R. Stockslager all of Chambersburg. Two special nieces: Heidi J. Boyer of Alexandria Virginia; Tina and husband, Adam Smith, of Phoenixville, Pa. A stepson Greg L. Burgard and step grandson Wyatt Burgard and her beloved cairn terriers, Smokey and Spunkey.
Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Saturday October 27, 2012 in Neill Funeral Home 3401 Market Street Camp Hill, PA 17011. Viewing will be Friday October 26, 2012 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Funeral Home and Saturday October 27, 2012 9:00 AM to time of service. Burial will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park Cemetery, Camp Hill, PA.
