

He was born in Cabanatuan City, Philippines, a son of the late Gregorio and Elena (Guzman) delRosario.
He is a graduate of the University of Santo Tomas, Manila, Philippines, where he received his Doctorate of Medicine. He completed his internship at Grace Hospital, Cleveland, OH and was psychiatric chief resident at Harrisburg State Hospital. He helped establish and served as Director of Holy Spirit Hospital’s Community Mental Health Center for over two decades. He was a member of the AMA, Pennsylvania Medical Society and a 50 year member of the Dauphin County Medical Society. He was a founding member and first president of the Central Pennsylvania Filipino American Society.
He is remembered as a gentle and loving father and husband. His caring and calm leadership benefited his family, friends and patients. Although he was a man of few words, the words he spoke always held great meaning. “Del” enjoyed bowling, golf, the beach and traveling the globe with his wife but felt his children and grandchildren were his greatest accomplishments and joy.
He was a member of Church of the Good Shepherd, Camp Hill.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Carmen (Cobo) delRosario; children, John Benavides and his wife Lynn, Carmen Elena Prophet and her husband Steven, Maria Bernadette delRosario and her husband Brian Burke, and Robert delRosario and his wife Lenke Erki-delRosario; several grandchildren; and his sister, Maria delRosario.
Viewing will be from 6-8 PM, Thursday, December 17, 2009, from Neill Funeral Home, 3401 Market Street, Camp Hill. Interment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Mechanicsburg.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM, Friday December 18, 2009 from Church of the Good Shepherd, Trindle Road, Camp Hill.
