July 20, 1955 – February 7, 2026
Caroline MacDonald, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away suddenly on February 7, 2026, at the age of 70.
Caroline was a devoted and loving mother to her two daughters, Tammy (Jason) Beaulieu and Kelly MacDonald. Her family was her entire world, and she dedicated her life to loving and supporting them in every way possible. She was a proud and adoring grandmother to Chris (Seinead), Elisha, Sidney, Alyvia, and Joe, and a cherished great-grandmother to Kaitlynn, Miles, Liam, Miley, Lilly, and Kyler.
She will be lovingly remembered by her siblings: Lyn (Don) Thonger, Wayne (Brenda) Poupard, Deborah (Rick) Therrien, and Colette Blight. The bond they shared throughout the years was one of family, memories, and enduring love.
Her life revolved around her family. If there was a game, recital, school event, race or celebration, you could always count on looking up and finding Caroline in the crowd, wearing the biggest smile, cheering the loudest, and beaming with pride. She was her family’s biggest supporter and their greatest comfort. No one ever left her home without a warm hug and feeling deeply loved.
Caroline was not just a mother, sister, aunt and grandmother—she was one in a million. She had a rare gift for loving others as her own and opened her heart to many beyond her immediate family. She welcomed others in, cared for them, and treated them with the same fierce devotion she gave her children and grandchildren. To know her was to feel supported, encouraged, and unconditionally loved.
She was an incredibly hard worker who gave endlessly of herself. Caroline was a fierce advocate for First Nations and returned many children to their family homes, she demanded accountability of social workers and the child welfare system. Her strength, generosity, and selflessness touched countless lives. She was a truly special lady to so many, and her kindness and compassion will never be forgotten.
Caroline is now reunited with her lifelong partner, Terry Ross, and her beloved mother. While her family finds comfort in knowing she is at peace with them, she will be deeply and forever missed by all who knew and loved her.
Her legacy lives on in the strong, loving family she built and the many lives she touched.
There will be a Celebration of life for Caroline on April 11, 2026 from 11-3pm at the Maritime Heritage Centre in Campbell River, BC
