July 14, 1943 – December 11, 2010
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jacqueline Isabella Rogers, at home, surrounded by her family. Jackie is survived by her husband of 50 years, Joe, three daughters, Cheryl (Al), Tracy (Murray) and Dawn-Marie. Eight grandchildren, Taylor, Colby, Brad (Laura), Candace, James, Chase and one great-grandchild, Logan, Also survived by three sisters, Ann (Bob) Joy, and June (Howard) as well as many nieces and nephews. Jacqueline was born in Glasgow Scotland, the daughter of John and Helen McFadden. She moved with her parents to the Campbell River area after WWII. Jackie and Joe were married in 1960. She spent the early years of their marriage as a homemaker and later as the manager of several ladies clothing stores. After her children were grown, she fulfilled her dream of becoming a hairdresser, attending college until qualified, then working in the industry. Over the years, Jackie volunteered with Girl Guides and Job’s Daughters, and later, the Campbell River Hospital. She was a quilter and member of the United Church Women’s group. An avid gardener, she could usually be found out in the yard tending to her flower and vegetable gardens. She had a soft heart, and at the insistence of her children, often took in homeless pets and a few kids along the way. She loved the sun and looked forward to family trips to Mexico. Jackie will be deeply missed by her very devoted husband Joe.
