

Romain Carrier died on Sunday, February 16th, 2020 at the age of 80 years and 11 months at the Villa Renaissance in Dalhousie. Originally from Eel River Crossing, Romain was one of the oldest heart transplant recipients across the country since December 9, 1990. He was the son of the late John Carrier and Ida Cayouette Carrier of Eel River Crossing.
Besides his mother Ida, he leaves to mourn his brothers and sisters: Edmond, Annette, Robertine, Rhéal (Nicole), Armel (Lucie) and Gilberte (Bill Hickey) as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and cousins.
He was predeceased by his father John, his brother-in-law Lucien and his sister-in-law Thérèse.
Romain, a career teacher, started here and ended up in Kanawaki (Montreal). He was a customs officer at Dorval Airport before retiring from the civil service. He loved nature, animals and photography.
During the last years of his life at the Villa, he made friends with the employees. Even with dementia, you could make him smile with joy.

The funeral will be celebrated on Wednesday February 19th, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. at the Holy Trinity Church of Eel River Crossing and visiting hours will be at the Savoie Parlor of Eel River Crossing on Tuesday, February 18 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday, February 19 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
A donation to the Holy Trinity Church or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
