Ador was born on August 26, 1938, in Mabalacat, Pampanga, Philippines, the second of seven children to Col. Roberto Uyengco Manabat and Salud Tolentino Tuazon. He graduated from the University of Santo Tomas with a Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture and retired twice—earlier from Brown & Root Petroleum & Chemical, Inc., as a Structural Construction Coordinator, in 1998; and several years later from Worley Parsons Resources and Energy, as a Principal Structural Designer, in 2014.
Married to Iluminada “Nady” Canullas Castro on December 29, 1963, they immigrated to the United States in the early 1970s and raised two daughters and one son in Los Angeles’ San Fernando Valley. A hardworking and uncomplicated man, Ador was a devoted husband and father who cherished big family gatherings and opened his home to many visiting friends and relatives from far and wide.
Ador is survived by his wife, Nady; his siblings and their spouses, Madeline Santos, Henry and Angelita Manabat, and Joyceline and Arturo Batoctoy; his daughter and son-in-law, Anna Marie and Jose Canizalez; his daughter, Katherine Manabat; his son, Ephraim Manabat; his grandson, Christian Canizalez, and step-grandchildren, Jennifer, Jonathan, and Jason Canizalez; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Funeral Mass will be held Friday, December 20, 2024, at 10:00 am at St Joseph the Worker Church, 19850 Cantlay St, Winnetka, CA 91306, followed by burial at Oakwood Memorial Park, 22601 Lassen St, Chatworth, CA 91311.
