Chris Daniels was a world renowned potter and glaze master, whose art has been incorporated into famous ceramic sculptures. But the majority of his work consisted of very practical pieces that are admired and used day in and day out. It was these useful items that he most cherished. These beautiful pieces of art remain a lasting legacy to family, friends, and his clients and collectors.
Chris was raised and educated in the San Fernando Valley, and operated a successful pottery studio in the Chico, CA area with his then wife Kelly Goodman and her son Kyle, who Chris adopted. He returned to Canoga Park where he spent much of his last year helping to care for his father. Chris was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth W. Daniels. He is survived by his father Howard E. Daniels, his brother David Daniels, and his two sisters Suzanne Dunbar and Debbie Sand, his former wife and adopted son.
A memorial service for Chris will be held at Gates-Kingsley Mortuary, July 2, 11 am. If you are planning to attend and have a piece of Chris’ art that you would like to display for the service, we will have tables set up so that everyone can see and appreciate his work.
