Born in Perry Township, Shiawassee, Michigan on August 18, 1918 to Frank Munsch and Mary Crahan Munsch, died on June 8, 2015 in Redondo Beach, California.
He is survived by his six children, Joseph Munsch, Marie Jensen, Philip Munsch, Patrick Munsch, John Munsch and William Munsch; and 13 grandchildren. He follows his wife, Mary Munsch, who passed away on February 2, 2012.
Francis was a farmer during WWII. He and Mary were married in 1955 and moved to California. While being an appliance repair man for Westinghouse, he raised a family in Los Angeles and completed a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering. With his degree, Francis went to work for North American Aviation, where he worked on such legendary programs as the X-15, the XB-70, and the B-1 bomber. He finished his career working at Rocketdyne on the Space Shuttle Main Engine. He was busy with the Boy Scouts, Church, and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed wood working, camping, and traveling. He taught his children the values of hard work and perseverance. He is now resting with Mary, whom he loved dearly.
