Jerald (Jerry) Daily died unexpectedly but peacefully in his sleep on 5 August 2014. He was born 17 January 1941 in Grand Rapids, Michigan where he lived until graduating Lee High School in 1959. After a four month courtship he married Georgia (King) also of Grand Rapids in February1964 and the newlyweds immediately moved to Los Angeles, California to pursue Jerry’s dream of becoming a teacher. Jerry received his BA and MA from California State University at Northridge and began his teaching career at Mt. Vernon Jr. High in Los Angeles, California. He later taught at Parkman Jr. High School in Woodland Hills, California and finished his thirty-three year teaching career at Taft High School in Woodland Hills in 2001. Jerry passed his passion for history and government onto his students and followed politics and world events closely outside the classroom. Jerry was actively involved in his church where he shared his talent for teaching and educating by leading Sunday school classes and Bible study groups. He is survived by his wife, Georgia; sons Stephen (Bangkok, Thailand) and David (Canoga Park, CA); sisters Dona (Tarzana, CA) and Lynda (Boston, MA); and loving nieces, nephews and in-laws across the country.
A memorial service will be held at Bel Air Presbyterian Church Wednesday 13 August at 11:00AM with a reception at the church following.
