“The death of someone we know always reminds us that we are still alive — perhaps for some purpose which we ought to re-examine.” 
Our guy Toto a.k.a. Leo  is not just simply known to me , he is a very close first cousin  and childhood friend with whom I shared my times and moments of growing up and adolescence in our native Bataan province.
From maybe aged 10, we were of virtually the same height and physical built, we used  to  always play together, eat together, sleep together, did desirable and undesirable  things together, be praised and scolded by our parents  and elders together, had common teenager  friends and barkadas, 
till  our marrying ages when we began to be transformed into men of family and corresponding responsibilities 
During these later years, we still had contact with each other although very seldom.The last time was on the first week of February 2025, just last month in which we had happy and nostalgic phone conversation  cut only by the need to attend to his caregiving duty, as always. And that was the last time I heard the usual gentle voice of a very kind person, my dearest cousin, my adored childhood friend and friend of many. With all his weakness and infirmities, like all of us who have our faults and shortcomings too, he dearly loved his family and will be missed very dearly but never forgotten .😢😔
And with his departure:
“ We need a time for tears, not for the one who is now at peace (with the Lord) in heaven; but for ourselves as we realize that things will never be the same.” ~Author Unknown
